It samples from the song “Forget About Me” by Little Bit (aka Lil’ Bit). This song was written by Ne-Yo, Daniel Nguyen and co-written by Stargate.

Ne-Yo shot the video for “Miss Independent” with director Chris Robinson on Monday, August 11, 2008 in Santa Monica, CA. Keri Hilson, Lauren London, Gabrielle Union and Trey Songz make cameos in the video.
