I think she just had an affair because she was curious about other guys, and now she is feeling terribly guilty because she’ll never find another good guy like the one she was with. She has blood on her hands because she stabbed him in the back (literally in the video, metaphorically in the song).

First time i’ve listened to katy perry. Kinda wished it was more singing than talking during the supposed “singing” parts. Not professional but intriguing. I do like the vid. Excellent concept and lyrics. Enjoyed it. Laters
my take on this music video (there is another one too about her falling in love with a guy who goes to war and is shot and killed and she moves on with another guy but she still loves her first man) is that she is in love with an amazing guy who is perfect for her, but she goes to another guy becuase she wants a variety or whatever and so when it shows the blood on her and the knife, she is stabbing her love in the back because that is technically what she did. she loved him but then screwed it up by doing that with another guy so she is mad at herself for stabbing him in the back…and she still thought of him the whole time she was with the other guys. just my thoughts. i like this one tho cuz the other one made me cry…:(
this song is ridiculously perfect for my situation right now. makes me cry a little :/ but in a sort of good way. amazing lyrics i love all of the metaphors it a really good song

I like the other video for this song a lot better. Even though the other video is kinda sad, from the beginning I was predicting that he was going to get shot while he was at war. I don’t really like this video as much cause the blood even though symbolic is kinda disturbing. And what is the purpose of the random girl? I don’t really know but I really like this song.

This video has a simple interpretation. She was in this perfect relationship (in the white nightgown) and everything was great until she stabbed him in the back. which, brought her to the bad relationship (in the red nightgown) and now she is alone with her regrets and mistakes.

Though I believe deep down this song’s about a girl, I think in the video we never see who she’s thinking of. Either good or bad, none of these men meet her expectations to the point that she’s disgusted with them enough to kill them. She never looks at them. She hates all of them, even the girl. And strangely, it seems like she’s singing to herself the way she looks so longingly into the camera, which makes me think again that it’s a girl she’s in love with.
This song, and video, is amazing.

This video is about how she is with a New Guy (ie the guy in the black frames) that brings other wemen into the bedroom and is a real tool. While the man in the white frames is the Man she truly loves and thinks about when she is with the tool. The blood and the dead guy is Symbolism/Metaphor for her Killing the relationship she had with the man she loves. Not litterally killing the guy himself, and she is regretting what she did and wishes she was back with him, thats what this song is about. This video is way better than the wattered down commercial version of the new video. I wish she would release this one!

It has nothing to do about her cheating on him while he was gone. It has to do with her always wondering what could have been. I know this because it happened to me. I always miss him…
